Mugello and Val di Sieve, cycling lands that over the years have given international champions such as Gastone Nencini or Italian champions such as Silvano Tucci and Gino Gabbuggiani. The in-depth research carried out by Bruno Confortini with the collaboration of Carlo Fontanelli has led to the publication of this cycling "effort" divided into four sections: the first dedicated to the numerous passages of the Giro d'Italia on the roads of Mugello and Val di Sieve; the second retracing the fantastic gallop of the "Mugello Lion" in the 1957 Giro d'Italia; the third with an in-depth analysis (presentations and files) of all professional cyclists of the two territories examined; the fourth and last reserved for Mugellans by adoption, first of all the late Franco Ballerini.
